Reverend Michael J. O’Shea, O.F.M. Cap.

Reverend Michael J. O’Shea, O.F.M. Cap. died on January 16, 2020. He was 93 years old. Father O’Shea was born in Ireland and ordained there. In 1954, he came to California, teaching religion at St. Francis High School in La Cañada-Flintridge, CA. He also served as associate pastor at a number of local churches. In 1977, Fr. O’Shea was appointed the first Provincial Secretary of the Province. In 1988 he was a chaplain at the Federal Penitentiary in Lompoc, CA. His last assignment was associate Pastor at Our Lady of Angels in Burlingame, CA. He retired in 2014 and was cared for at Mercy Care Center in Oakland and Herman Health Care Center in San Jose.
