St. John Fisher Church in Rancho Palos Verdes will host a special movie screening fundraiser — featuring the film “Mary of Nazareth” — on Saturday, May 9 to benefit homeless and low-income families in the surrounding community.

The event is being sponsored by the Friends of Fatima and Families of Nazareth Movement parish ministry groups. Admission is $5 per person or $20 for each family. Refreshments and raffle tickets will also be available for purchase.

All net proceeds from the event are earmarked to benefit Family Promise of South Bay, a not-for-profit organization that provides assistance to poor and homeless families to help them achieve sustainable independence.

The movie will be presented in Barrett Hall at St. John Fisher, which is located at 5448 Crest Road in Rancho Palos Verdes, and is scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m.

According to Father Donald Calloway, MIC, the movie is a stunning portrayal of the Virgin Mary that “will make you want to love her more than ever.”

Tickets will be sold at St. John Fisher Church on Sunday, May 3 following each Mass and before the screening on May 9. To request tickets or for additional information, please contact Barbara Shen at (310) 213-6658.
