A funeral Mass was celebrated on Feb. 9, 2016, at St. Catherine Laboure Church in Torrance for Msgr. John Francis O’Byrne, who died on Jan. 27. He was 80 years old.
The late Msgr. O’Byrne served at parishes in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles for 54 years. He served at St. Catherine Laboure for 36 years, and was pastor there for 25 years before his retirement in 2012.
Burial was at Holy Cross Cemetery in Culver City. A reception followed at St. Catherine Laboure Church.
