Loyola Marymount University’s men’s and women’s cross country teams ran a limited squad for the Biola Invitational Sept. 7 at Ted Craig Williams Park in Fullerton, but realized solid performances nonetheless.

In the women’s 5K race, fifth-year senior Ann Kelly from San Diego was 13th overall and the Lions finished ninth as a team. Dani Rowlinson, Cynthia Melendez, Rosie Cruz and Marina Soares rounded out the top five finishers for LMU.

Freshman Cooper McCarthy, in his first 8K, was the Lions’ top finisher in the men’s event, in which LMU placed tenth. Luca Cannuscio, Sebastian Belkin, Ethan Monarski and Mike Martinez also scored for the Lions.

The Lions this week head to Colfax, Washington, for the Cougar Classic, hosted by Washington State University.

The Sept. 13 meet offers an opportunity for the Lions to preview this year's NCAA West Regional Course on Nov. 15.
