Los Angeles, Calif., Apr 11, 2017 (Angelus News) - My dear brothers and sisters in Christ:

As I announced at the Chrism Mass last night, Our Holy Father, Pope Francis, has chosen to honor some of our priests in a very special way.

Pope Francis has honored 15 priests with the title “Chaplain to His Holiness,” which means they can now be addressed as “Reverend Monsignor.” They are:

Father Alejandro D. Aclan (Archdiocesan Catholic Center)

Father Albert M. Bahhuth (Archdiocesan Catholic Center)

Father James L. Halley (Archdiocesan Catholic Center)

Father Francis J. Hicks (St. Basil, Los Angeles)

Father Martin T. Slaughter (St. Gerard Majella, Los Angeles)

Father John D. Stoeger (Cardinal Manning House of Prayer for Priests, Los Angeles)

Father Kevin John Larkin (St. Francis de Sales, Sherman Oaks)

Father Robert L. Milbauer (St. John Baptist de la Salle, Granada Hills)

Father Brian M. Cavanagh (Sacred Heart, Covina)

Father Leslie Norman Delgado (Our Lady of Guadalupe Sanctuary, Los Angeles)

Father Austin Doran (St. Anthony, San Gabriel)

Father Leo E. Steinbock (retired, out of rectory)

Father Guillermo A. Rodriguez (St. Matthew, Long Beach)

Father Joseph N. Duc Minh (retired, out of rectory)

Father Rafael Marin-Leon (Holy Cross, Santa Barbara)

Please join me in congratulating our brothers on this recognition of their distinguished service to the family of God here in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles.

As we approach the beautiful feast of Easter, please know that you and your families are in my prayers. And I kindly ask you to please remember me in your prayers as well.

May we all open our hearts in a new way to the joy of the Resurrection.
