Incorruptibility

The apparently incorrupt body and religious habit of Sister Wilhelmina Lancaster, foundress of the Benedictines of Mary, Queen of Apostles, lies in repose in the church of the Abbey of Our Lady of Ephesus in Gower, Mo., May 21, 2023. An investigation by the Diocese of Kansas City-St. Joseph, Mo., found her body "does not appear to have experienced the decomposition that would have normally been expected under such previous burial conditions," according to an official diocesan announcement Aug. 22, 2024.
