Sr. Theresa Diane Lopez, OSF (also known as Sister Gerard), passed away on August 8, 2024. She entered the Franciscan Sisters of the Sacred Heart in 1957, making perpetual vows in 1963.
Sr. Theresa served in domestic ministries and Pastoral Care in our hospitals. She said that she felt that God was always with her, asking her for daily signs of her love for him.
Sr. Theresa is survived by half-sister Loretta Jacobs, and other relatives and friends, and preceded in death by parents, Edith and Fermin Lopez; brother Fermin Lopez; sister Mary Lopez; and half-sister Lillian Janes.
A graveside cemetery service will be in Section F of Calvary Cemetery, Los Angeles, on Tuesday, September 3, 2024, at 10 a.m.
