Reverend Francis Benedict, O.S.B., died Saturday, July 20, 2024. He was 76 years old.
Fr. Francis was a religious order priest who was ordained on July 10, 1976, for the Benedictine Monks. While serving in the archdiocese, these were his assignments:
- Abbot, Resident, St. Andrew’s Abbey and Retirement Center, Valyermo
- Resident, Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church, Pasadena
A vigil service will be held Sunday, July 28, 2024, at St. Andrew’s Abbey Chapel, 31001 N. Valyermo Rd., Valyermo, CA 93563. Prayer: Office of Vigils at 7:30 p.m., viewing at 8:30 p.m.
The funeral Mass will be held Monday, July 29, 2024, at 10 a.m., at St. Mary’s Church, 1600 East Ave R-4, Palmdale, CA 93550. Reception following Mass at St. Mary’s Parish Hall. Interment will be private for the Monastic Community.
