Deacon Vincent “Vince” Kelch died Friday, July 7, 2023, at the age of 66.

Vince was born in 1956 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, to Carl and Beatrice Koelsch. Vince was their only child. His family moved to Tucson, Arizona, where he spent his early childhood, but then moved to Oxnard, California. Vince completed the Doctor of Pharmacy program at the University of the Pacific and received a commission in the U.S. Naval Reserve.

On March 17, 2001, Vince married his wife, Anne Ruby, in Morristown, New Jersey. Vince and Anne were blessed with two children, Christopher and Sarah. Vince was in the 2007 ordination class and served at Santa Clara Church until 2019 when he retired due to health issues.

Please also keep Deacon Vince’s daughter, Sarah Kelch, in your prayers, as she died on May 22, 2023, in Oxnard, which was a sudden and unexpected loss for the family.

Eternal rest grant unto Vincent & Sarah, O Lord, and may perpetual light shine upon them. May their souls, and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.

A vigil service will be held Wednesday, August 9, at Santa Clara Mortuary Chapel, 2370 N H St., Oxnard, at 6 p.m. The funeral Mass will be held Thursday, August 10, at Santa Clara Church, 323 S E St., Oxnard, at 10 a.m. Priests and deacons wishing to attend are invited to vest in an alb and white stole.

Deacon Vince’s interment will take place at Resurrection Cemetery in St. Louis, Missouri, with his daughter and four generations of his family.
