Deacon Edward Caputo died Sunday, December 6, 2020.
Deacon Edward was born in Clarksburg, West Virginia, in 1939. His mother died when he was 15 months old and his Italian grandparents raised him. He joined the Air Force at age 19 and served in the Korean War, and then began a career in aerospace.
Deacon Edward was a man of deep faith and served his church as prayer group leader for over 10 years which led to his call to ordained ministry. He was ordained a deacon on June 11, 1994 for the Archdiocese Los Angeles, where he served for 26 years in prison ministry, RCIA, baptism classes, baptisms, liturgy and bible study.
Deacon Edward was preceded in death by Carol, his wife of 53 years. He is survived by 3 children, Reni Vellios, Tom Caputo, Melisa Landa, 7 grandchildren, and 13 great grandchildren.
