Boys Water Polo

Crespi has risen to the top of Division 6 in the CIF-Southern Section boys’ water polo divisional polls released Sept. 9, one of several excellent showings by local Catholic school teams.

Servite is second in D-3, and Loyola and Mater Dei are third and fourth in the combined D-1 & 2 poll with Santa Margarita ninth and Damien 20th. J.Serra is sixth in D-4.

Just outside their respective top tens are Notre Dame/Sherman Oaks (D-3) and La Salle (D-6).

Cross Country

Girls’ Catholic school teams showed the most upward movement in the latest CIF-Southern Section cross country divisional polls released Sept. 10.

In Division 4, Mayfield climbed from seventh to fifth and Bishop Amat jumped into eighth, while La Reina rose from fourth to third and Sacred Heart moved into eighth in D-5. Santa Margarita slipped from eighth to tenth in D-3.

In boys’ cross country, Loyola dropped from second to seventh in Division 2; St. John Bosco slipped from eighth to tenth in D-3; Cathedral dipped from first to fourth while J.Serra inched up to eighth from ninth in D-4; and St. Paul remained tenth in D-5.
