Eighteen standout boys’ soccer players from local Catholic high schools have received All-CIF-Southern Section First Team honors for 2019, three of them repeat selections from 2018.

Presented by the LA84 Foundation, the selections included six in Division 1: Cathedral’s Dylan Robinson, senior forward, and Adrian Munoz, freshman goalkeeper; Loyola’s Henry Smith-Hastie, senior midfielder (repeat selection from 2018); Mater Dei’s Anthony Barajas, senior forward, and Cole Martin, senior midfielder; and Servite’s Uriel Sanchez, junior midfielder.

Other selections, listed by division, were:
  • D-2: St. Francis’ Luis Granados, junior goalkeeper.
  • D-3: Salesian’s Kelley Vasquez, junior midfielder, and Anthony Solares, senior defender.
  • D-4: Damien’s Alex Carmona, senior defender.
  • D-6: Mary Star of the Sea’s Chris Tyler, senior midfielder; and Santa Clara’s Isaac Carbajal, senior forward, and AJ Martinez, junior defender (Carbajal and Martinez were first-team choices in 2018).
  • D-7: Bishop Diego’s Adam Luckhurst, junior midfielder, Jack Luckhurst, senior forward, and Daniel Giannini, junior defender; and St. Pius X-St. Matthias Academy’s Maximo Rosales, junior midfielder, and Fernando Sandoval, freshman forward.
