Chaminadernremains fourth in D-5, Mater Dei continues in sixth in D-1, and St. Paulrngrabbed the ninth spot in D-3.

Thernbiggest move among Catholic schools was in Division 7, where former No. 1 SantarnClara, after falling to seventh two weeks ago, climbed into second. Serra movedrnfrom eighth to sixth, and Marymount was tenth.

In baseball,rnMary Star of the Sea and St. Joseph/Santa Maria again ranked fifth and sixth inrnDivision 5, the highest-ranking Catholic school teams for the second straightrnweek. Damien was seventh and Alemany ninth in the D-2 rankings, andrnCantwell-Sacred Heart moved up to seventh from ninth in D-3.

In boys’rnvolleyball, the final regular season poll released May 4 (ahead of thernplayoffs) found La Salle and St. Anthony one-two for the fourth straight weekrnamong Division 4 teams — except that this time, La Salle was on top after itsrnwin over the Saints in their Camino Real League rematch on May 1.

InrnDivision 1, Loyola remained second behind Newport Harbor (the same as in Maxpreps’rnnational rankings), with Alemany sixth and Mater Dei eighth. Bishop Montgomeryrncontinued in fifth in D-2, and Damien remained ninth in D-3.

Inrnboys’ tennis, Santa Margarita and J.Serra were fifth and seventh in the finalrnDivision 2 poll of the regular season, as playoffs action began this week.rnDamien was seventh in D-3.
