Coming off a home victory against Southern Utah, Loyola Marymount University’s men’s basketball team (3-4) hits the road to take on 20th-ranked Colorado Dec. 4 in Boulder.

Two first-year Lions led the way in their 61-51 win over Southern Utah on Dec. 1.  Junior forward Parker Dortch from New Jersey scored 17 points and freshman guard Seikuo Sisoho Jawara from Spain tallied 11. Eli Scott added six rebounds, six assists and six points for LMU who as a team shot 50 percent from the field, offsetting a poor 4-for-14 free throw performance.

A week earlier, the Lions lost two of three games at the Junkanoo Jam in the Bahamas. They beat Air Force 78-64 as Ivan Alipiev scored 19, Dortch 17, and Scott 16 (plus nine assists and seven rebounds), then lost to Indiana State 72-60, and lost to Duquesne 71-50.

In taking on Colorado, the Lions will face former Cathedral High star Lucas Siewart, a 2016 All-CIF 3AA first team selection and Cathedral’s all-time leading scorer. The 6-foot-10 native of Brazil is averaging six points and 5.5 rebounds per game for the Buffaloes.

LMU then returns home to play Grambling State Dec. 7 and Prairie View A&M Dec. 13. The West Coast Conference season begins Jan. 2 at home against San Diego.
