With a few weeks of regular season play remaining prior to playoffs, J.Serra and Crespi remain division leaders in the CIF-Southern Section boys’ water polo polls released Oct. 8.
The Lions (Division 4) and the Celts (D-6), with Alemany remaining eighth in the latter poll. Several other Catholic teams are highly ranked as well, with St. Francis rising from fourth to second in D-5. Loyola remains third in the combined D-1&2 poll, with Santa Margarita still fifth but Mater Dei falling from a tie for fifth to eighth. Servite is still fifth in D-3.
Cross Country
There were slight changes among Catholic school teams in the Oct. 8 CIF-SS cross country divisional polls.
Among boys’ teams, Loyola fell to seventh from fifth in Division 2; Cathedral is still third while J.Serra slipped to seventh from sixth in D-4; and Damien remained ninth in D-3.
In the girls’ top tens, Mayfield rebounded to seventh from ninth in D-4, and Sacred Heart remained fifth in D-5.
Girls’ Tennis
In the CIF-SS girls’ tennis rankings issued Oct. 8, J.Serra rose from tenth to ninth in Division 2 and Mayfield jumped from tenth to seventh in D-3.
