Continuing a season-long upward climb, the Notre Dame Knights of Sherman Oaks are tied with Marshall for the No. 1 ranking in the CIF-Southern Section Division 4A girls’ basketball poll issued Jan. 27.

As the Feb. 11 start of post-season play approaches, only one other Catholic school basketball team holds the top spot in its division: Providence of Burbank, which continued its grip on No. 1 in boys’ Division 3AA.

Two other teams slipped into second place after ranking first last week: St. Pius X-St. Matthias (boys’ D-4A) and Bishop Diego (girls’ D-5A).

There was upward movement among Catholic school teams in boys’ D-1 and D-2AA, with Chaminade and St. Bernard now second and third in the latter category.
