Football: Mater Dei, St. John Bosco stay 1-2

On the strength of dominant opening victories last weekend, Mater Dei and St. John Bosco continue to be ranked one-two in the CIF-Southern Section combined Divisions 1 and 2 poll issued Aug. 26.

J.Serra rose from fifth to fourth, while Serra of Gardena moved into tenth in the D-1 & 2 poll. Elsewhere, rose from Alemany eighth to fourth in D-3, with Cathedral climbing into eighth; Loyola edged up from eighth to seventh in D-4; St. Paul remained sixth and St. Bonaventure eighth in D-5; St. Bernard rose into ninth in D-13; and Mary Star of the Sea is now seventh in D-14.
