Instrumental in their teams’ respective marches to CIF-Southern Section titles, St. Anthony’s Tiare Jennings and Notre Dame/Sherman Oaks’ Chris Hall earned CIF-Southern Section Player of the Year honors in their respective sports, highlighting a banner spring for local Catholic high school athletics.
Jennings, a freshman infielder for St. Anthony’s softball team, was named Division 6 Player of the Year, while her coach, Adrian Ponce, was named Coach of the Year. Another Notre Dame freshman, pitcher Brooke Townsend, was named to the Division 6 first team, as was senior infielder Jessica Fox of Notre Dame/Sherman Oaks.
Hall earned top honors in Division 2 volleyball, and his father Jim was named Coach of the Year. Two more Knights, seniors Sean Auten and Brandon Dunn, were named to the Division 2 first team.
