Common Ground Santa Barbara County, in partnership with the Central Coast Collaborative on Homelessness (C3H), works to house the most vulnerable individuals and families in Santa Barbara County.

Common Ground and C3H survey people experiencing homelessness this time of year. By using the Vulnerability Index Survey, which includes factors such as age, hospitalizations/emergency room visits in a year, age, HIV-AIDS, liver disease or kidney disease, and history of frostbite, Common Ground and C3H will work to discover how many people are living on the streets throughout Santa Barbara County. The intent of the survey is the belief that the key to solving homelessness is understanding who is homeless. They are currently looking for volunteers, with training days beginning Jan. 14.

Interested applicants can fill out an online volunteer registration form: www.commongroundsb.org or call (805) 264-3612 or email [email protected] for more information.
