St. Francis drops first game, eliminated

A one-loss season is a great record. Unfortunately, that one loss came at a bad time for St. Francis.

Without quarterback Jeremiah Martin (out with a broken collarbone), the St. Francis Golden Knights fell to La Serna, 38-35.

It was a back and forth game, that saw a 17 point La Serna lead turn into a 4 point lead for St. Francis.

Backup quarterback Miles Bryant took over for St. Francis, and filled in quite nicely. He finished with 268 yards and 4 touchdowns, almost completing a comeback that would have sent the Golden Knights to the CIF-SS Southeast Division semifinals.

St. Francis had a great season, finishing with a record of 11-1 and the Angelus League title.
