San Gabriel Mission High School hosted a Spring Sing concert March 13-14. The student-led event featured a wide range of Broadway musical numbers for an enthusiastic, standing room-only audience of students and faculty.
The show opened with music and dance routines from Broadway mainstay “Chicago.” Solo routines included Christina Estrada singing “Over the Rainbow,” Christina Melendez performing a combination jazz and funk dance number and Riana Mejia singing “Listen” from Dreamgirls. Other performances showcased songs from “Mama Mia,” “Glee,” “Hairspray” and “Moulin Rouge!” A group of the school’s faculty also performed a dance routine.
Angela Mastantuono, English department chair, was the director and choreographer of the Spring Sing event.
