Preparations are underway for the Pregnancy Help Center of San Gabriel Valley’s third annual “Gift of Life Gala” to be held Nov. 15, 6 p.m. at the San Gabriel County Club.
This year’s gala — the Center’s biggest annual fundraiser, with proceeds benefitting various programs and medical needs — will honor Joanne Hawkins, a founder of the Center and who was instrumental in developing its mission.
Featured guest is Lauren Roman, a pro-life singer, writer and actress who appeared on “All My Children” (as Laura Kirk) and in the recent inspirational film “Grace Unplugged, who will share her own heartfelt story. Having had an abortion at age 18, and after struggling for years with guilt, depression and an eating disorder, she finally found forgiveness and freedom through a post-abortion Bible study at a pregnancy resource center in Los Angeles
For more than 40 years, Pregnancy Help Center of San Gabriel Valley provides sound alternatives to abortion and support for women (and men) experiencing crisis pregnancies. The Center’s services are free and confidential: pregnancy tests, non-diagnostic ultrasounds, referrals, support groups, baby clothes and supplies, post-abortion counseling services and parenting classes.
