Relics belonging to St. Pio of Pietrelcina will return to Los Angeles next month as part of a 35-diocese United States tour to commemorate the 50th anniversary of his death.

The relics will be available for veneration at St. Andrew Church in Pasadena on March 16-17 and St. Cyril of Jerusalem Church in Encino the weekend of March 18. A special Mass in honor of St. Pio will be held March 16 at 7 p.m. at St. Andrew and March 18 at 5 p.m. at St. Cyril.

Better known as Padre Pio, the Italian priest was a mystic celebrated for his powers of healing and prophesy. He bore wounds resembling those of Christ known as the “stigmata.”
