The Mary and Joseph Retreat Center in Rancho Palos Verdes is kicking off the fall season with several day retreats covering a range of topics, from exploring the “language of our soul” to offering faith support and guidance for cancer patients.

On Saturday, Sept. 26, the retreat center will present “Discovering the Landscape of Your Soul,” which is intended to renew and nourish the “inner landscape.” Sister Carol Quinlivan, CSJ, will explore how to give voice to our inner wisdom by engaging the imagination through prayer, journaling and more. The retreat will be held 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.; lunch is included. The registration fee is $50 per person.

On Sunday, Oct. 4, David and Sharon Hoover will lead an afternoon of storytelling and reflection during “Once Upon a Time: Stories to Awaken the Mysteries of the Heart.”

Presented from 3 to 5 p.m., the retreat will probe how stories have the ability to communicate with and impact our souls and evoke surprising responses. Registration is $25 each ($20 if paid in full by Sept. 25).

Also on Oct. 4, Sister Laura Gormley, SSL, will present “Faith Support on Our Cancer Journey” from 2 to 4 p.m. The afternoon reflection will explore ways to nurture the spirit and seek divine guidance and support.

Survivor stories will be shared to offer hope along the journey. The cost is $25 ($20 if paid by Sept. 25).

The retreats will all be held on-site at the Mary and Joseph Retreat Center, at 5300 Crest Road in Rancho Palos Verdes. For information or registration, call (310) 377-4867 ext. 234. To register online, please go to: www.maryjoseph.org.
