This coming Thanksgiving, Nov. 27, Holy Innocents Church in Long Beach will celebrate a long-standing and valued parish tradition by offering free hot meals for parishioners and members of the surrounding community.
According to Dom Salas, parish council president and Thanksgiving committee chairman, approximately 500 men, women and children from the parish and local neighborhoods “come to this joyous occasion every year to share a meal together and [partake of] a great opportunity to get to know each other in the process.”
“We are only able to do this with the generosity of parish volunteers, confirmation students and organizations like the Knights of Columbus, Bishop Carl Fisher Council No. 987, who support this cause,” Salas explained.
The community Thanksgiving celebration will be held on the grounds of Holy Innocents School, 2500 Pacific Avenue in Long Beach, immediately after the 10 a.m. Mass. All who come will receive a free turkey meal.
