Memorial services were held on April 30 at St. Timothy Church in Los Angeles for Elizabeth “Betsy” Caprio Hedberg, who passed away on March 25. She was 82.

Born to Arthur Bryan Whitworth and Jane Leslie Blair Whitworth on June 1, 1933, in Brooklyn, New York, she was a noted art therapist, author, spiritual director, public speaker and accomplished quilter. She cofounded the Center for Sacred Psychology with her husband Thomas in 1983. Betsy graduated with a master’s degree in art therapy in 1989 from Loyola Marymount University and also received a Doctorate of Ministry in 1995 from the Graduate Theological Foundation of Indiana.

Over the course of Betsy’s life, she served by helping others realize their individual worth and calling to be of service to others. She is survived by her husband, Thomas M. Hedberg and her eight children, Sarah, Mark, Mary, Cecelia, Andrew, Lucy, Michael and Julia, 17 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
