New faces, going places: Catholic LA returns to school

Vol. 4, No. 29

September 6, 2019

In this year’s Back to School issue, Angelus reporter Tom Hoffarth starts on Page 10 with the “providential” crowdfunding campaign organized by a 14-year-old to help a struggling parochial school serving the “working poor” of northeast LA. On Page 14, the new superintendent of LA’s Catholic schools talks to Angelus about his vision to “push the envelope even further” in making a Catholic education available to more families of the Archdiocese of Los Angeles for years to come.
