Friends from above: LA helps the Church welcome two new saints, Pier Giorgio Frassati and Carlo Acutis

Vol. 10, No. 19

September 19, 2025

On the cover: Pope Leo XIV greeted Los Angeles pilgrims (wearing blue) from the Popemobile after the Sept. 7 canonization Mass of Sts. Pier Giorgio Frassati and Carlo Acutis in St. Peter’s Square in Rome. With more than one personal connection to both of the new saints, Catholics in the City of Angels had plenty to celebrate. Angelus’ coverage starts on Page 10 with a report from Rome, and continues with coverage from LA (Page 14) and Assisi (Page 18).
