Bishop Joseph N. Perry is a native of Chicago and has served as an auxiliary bishop for the Archdiocese of Chicago since 1998. He is the diocesan postulator of the sainthood cause for Ven. Augustus Tolton, the first known black Catholic priest in the U.S.
