In a personal message to doctors and nurses and other health professionals, Archbishop José H. Gomez offered prayers and gratitude for their sacrifice. “Jesus said there is no greater love than to offer one’s life in service to another. That is what you are doing, day in and day out, hour by hour,” he said.
“You are on the frontlines of this pandemic,” the archbishop said. “I know you are in harm’s way in every moment of every shift.” He reminded them to take their fears to Jesus. “Turn to him, ask his protection and guidance. He will never, ever leave you!”
Archbishop Gomez closed his message by entrusting healthcare workers and their families “to the care of Our Lady of Guadalupe and the protection of the holy angels.”
