Our Lady of Guadalupe will be honored with a Mass and religious procession in East Los Angeles on Dec. 4.
The 85th Annual Procession and Mass is the oldest religious procession in Los Angeles. It was established by Mexican Catholics who had fled religious persecution by the Mexican government during the Cristero War in 1931.
The procession will begin at 10:30 a.m. on the corner of Cesar Chavez and 710 Freeway. The procession will be followed by a 1 p.m. Mass celebrated by Archbishop José H. Gomez at East Los Angeles College.
The college is located at 1301 Avenida Cesar Chavez, Monterey Park. For more information, please call (323) 268-1141 or visit archla.org/guadalupe.
