In advance of National Respect Life Month in October, two events centered around the National Day of Remembrance for Aborted Children will take place locally Sept. 14.A Memorial Service for Victims of Abortion will be held at Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Rowland Heights (2161 S. Fullerton Rd.), beginning at 10 a.m. Msgr. James Loughnane, episcopal vicar for the San Gabriel region, will be among those participating. In 1985, 16,433 aborted babies were buried in unmarked graves at the Odd Fellows Cemetery on donated land.
