Deacon Ron Routolo died Friday, March 17, 2023.
Ron was born on December 30,1960 in New Haven, CT to Robert and Mildred Routolo. Ron joined the US Army in 1980. On March 17, 1982, Ron married his wife Brenda in Frankfurt, Germany, as they were both stationed there in the US Army. They were given an Apostolic Blessing by Pope John Paul II when they honeymooned in Rome, Italy. Ron served in the United States Army for 16 years, where he reached the rank of Staff Sergeant.
Ron worked for Lockheed Martin for the last 34 years as a Software Engineer/Consultant. Ron was ordained as a Permanent Deacon on June 8, 2002. He served at Sacred Heart Church in Lancaster for the past 21 years and was a 4th Degree Member of the Knights of Columbus. He also served as a Stational Deacon for the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels in Los Angeles for 4 years when he was first ordained.
Ron passed away on their 41st wedding anniversary. Brenda played their song for him and wished him Happy Anniversary, and he passed away 20 minutes later. His wife Brenda, their 5 children Victoria, Kelly, Carrie, Ronnie, and Rachel, their spouses, fiancée, and 7 grandchildren were at his side as he peacefully went to meet God. Many knew Ron as a dedicated husband, father, grandfather, employee, and a true Servant of the Lord. He will be greatly missed.

Vigil Service: Thursday, April 13, 2023, at 6:30 p.m.
Funeral Mass: Friday, April 14, 2023, at 2:00 p.m.
Priests and deacons wishing to attend are invited to vest in an alb and white stole.
Interment will take place at Good Shepherd Cemetery on 70th Street West (near West Avenue L) in Lancaster, CA.
