The April 27 canonizations of Popes John XXIII and John Paul II — as well as programming leading up to the event at the Vatican — will be aired on the EWTN Global Catholic Television Network and SiriusXM radio.

EWTN’s coverage will include the “Pope John Paul II Canonization Celebration and Vigil” from the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels in Los Angeles, with Archbishop José Gomez presiding at the April 26, 7 p.m. (Pacific Time) event.

Soon after the Los Angeles vigil, coverage from Rome of the canonization ceremony will begin on EWTN with the Canonization Mass celebrated by Pope Francis, scheduled to air live at 12:30 a.m. (PDT) on April 27. Encore broadcasts of the event will air later that day at 4 p.m., and again at 8 p.m. on April 28.

Preliminary programming in the days prior to the canonization (especially April 25 and 26) will include specials on both popes. For the complete lineup of programs, including dates and times (subject to change), visit www.ewtn.com/canonization.

SiriusXM will offer listeners a full week of programming on its Catholic Channel (SiriusXM channel 129) dedicated to the proceedings and live coverage of the Canonization Mass in Rome. Listeners will hear specials hosted by Cardinals Timothy Dolan and Edward Egan of New York, archival recordings of Popes John Paul II and John XXIII, live programming from the Vatican hosted by Catholic Channel experts and more.

The Catholic Channel will also serve as a forum for Catholics and non-Catholics alike to call in and ask questions about the canonization process, share their memories of John Paul II and John XXIII, and be a part of the discussion about sainthood.

“The making of a saint is always a wonderful occasion for the Church, made particularly special in this case as Blesseds John Paul II and John XXIII were loved and admired by so many millions of people across several generations,” said Cardinal Dolan. “I am excited to invite a nation of listeners, from all faiths, to join us through the Catholic Channel to discuss the qualities of these men and their impact on our world.”

“The Canonization of Pope John Paul II and Pope John XXIII will be a historic event and a joyous experience for millions of people around the world,” said Dave Gorab, Vice President and General Manager, Talk Programming, SiriusXM. “The Catholic Channel will offer a unique level of coverage that will inform listeners about the lives of two of the Church’s greatest leaders and give the audience a forum to express what these two men have meant to them in their own lives.”
