Reverend Severiano Castañeda died February 13, 2023, in Mexico. He was 80 years old.
Fr. Severiano was ordained a priest on August 14, 1971, for the Guadalupe Missioners, and was incardinated into the Archdiocese of Los Angeles on October 1, 1994. While serving as a priest in the Archdiocese, these were his assignments:
- Resident, Guadalupe Missioners Procure, Los Angeles
- Associate Pastor, Immaculate Conception Church, Los Angeles
- Associate Pastor, St. Rose of Lima Church, Maywood
- Pastor, St. Columbkille Church, Los Angeles
- Pastor, Administrator, San Francisco Church, Los Angeles
