Father William Piletic C.M., 88, of Perryville, Missouri, entered into eternal rest Friday, June 12, 2026 at the Apostle of Charity Residence in Perryville, MO.

He was born July 26, 1937 in LaSalle, IL to Rudolph and Elivra (Newton) Piletic.

Father William Piletic C.M. served in the United States Army Reserve. He was a Roman Catholic priest and member of the Congregation of the Mission. He entered the Novitiate at St. Mary's Seminary Retreat Center in Santa Barbara on July 19, 1967, and he professed his vows at DeAndreis Seminary in Lemont on May 28th, 1976. He was ordained a priest at DeAndreis Seminary in Lemont on June 4th, 1977.

While serving as a priest in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles, these were his assignments:

  • Resident, Associate Pastor, St. Vincent Church, Los Angeles
  • Resident, Vincentian Community Residence, Los Angeles
  • Teacher, St. Vincent Seminray, Montebello
  • Director, Amat House, Los Angeles
  • Pastor, Associate Pastor, Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Church, Montebello
  • Faculty, St. John’s Seminary College, Camarillo

Survivors include niece Bonny Pietrowski, and cousin Holly Newton. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister.

Visitation will be from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm with a Vigil Service at 7:00 pm on Thursday, June 18, 2026 at Mary Mother of God Chapel in the Apostle of Charity Residence in Perryville, MO.

Funeral Mass will be at 10 am Friday, June 19, 2026, at Mary Mother of God Chapel in the Apostle of Charity Residence, followed by Rite of Committal in the Vincentian Community Cemetery in Perryville with the Rev. Michael Joyce C.M. officiating.
