The Vincentian community announces the death of Father Roy Persich, C.M., who died Monday, May 5, 2025. He was 91 years old.
Father Roy was a seminary professor and administrator for most of his Vincentian life. He was ordained in 1960. He began his ministry by teaching in a variety of minor seminaries before doing graduate studies in French. He then took posts in a variety of College Seminaries including St. John's Seminary College in Camarillo, California, where he was Vice Rector and Academic Dean from 1973 to 1990. He also became very involved with Marriage Encounter and served as the Director of Continuing Education for the Vincentians of the Western Province. He served the people of St. Mary Magdalen Parish in Camarillo, CA, for more than 40 years as a supply priest,
Over his years of ministry he served at the following seminaries until his retirement in 2001:
- St. Vincent's Seminary, Lemont IL
- St. Vincent's Seminary, Montebello, CA
- Prep South, St. Louis, MO
- St. Mary's Seminary, Perryville, MO
- St. John's Seminary College, Camarillo, CA
- St. Mary's Seminary, Santa Barbara, CA
- Amat House, Los Angeles, CA (Resident)
