Father Peter L. Bui, SDB
Funeral Mass was celebrated Oct. 25 at St. Dominic Savio Church, Bellflower, for Salesian of Don Bosco Father Peter L. Bui, who died Oct. 22. He was 66.
A native of Buichu, Vietnam, Father Bui was ordained in 1990, after joining the Salesians of St. John Bosco in 1983 and making his first profession of vows in 1984.
Father Bui served as a counselor for students at Don Bosco Technical Institute in Rosemead for 11 years. He also served as a clinical psychologist for the Asian Pacific Mental Health and the Westminster Health Care, specializing in children and youth services, and as vice director of De Sales Hall in Bellflower.
Father Bui, who spoke several languages, earned a bachelor’s degree in philosophy from St. Charles Borromeo Seminary and master’s degrees in counseling, psychology, divinity and theology from Bank Street College of Education, Fielding Institute, and the Dominican School of Philosophy and Theology of the Graduate Theological Union, respectively. He was awarded a Ph.D. in clinical psychology from Santa Barbara’s Fielding Institute in 2000.
Father Dominic L. Bebek
A private funeral Mass was celebrated for Father Dominic L. Bebek, a retired priest of the Archdiocese of Los Angeles, who died May 7.
Father Bebek was ordained for the Archdiocese of Los Angeles in December of 1953. His surviving family members requested that his services remain private. ν
