The Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels will host a solo organ concert performance by Alison J. Luedecke on Oct. 6, 4 p.m. The concert will feature works representing the liturgical year by composers Craig Phillips, Halsey Stevens, Charles Tournemire, Richard Proulx, Edward Diemente, Jean Langlais, John Karl Hirten and Maurice Durufle along with Mary Beth Bennett’s “Variations on Outbursts of Spring Triumphant.” Zachary Valenzuela, flutist, will join Luedecke on several pieces.Luedecke has performed worldwide, and was a founding member of Millennia Consort, an ensemble, featuring organ, brass quintet and percussion. She has been heard numerous times on “Pipedreams,” the nationally syndicated radio show, and is featured on five organ recordings. She completed her Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Organ Performance at the Eastman School of Music as a student of David Craighead.The Cathedral Our Lady of the Angels is located at 555 W. Temple St., Los Angeles. A donation of $10 is suggested.
