Immaculate Heart High School finished 22nd in the CIF-Southern Section Swimming Division 3 Championships held May 2 at Riverside Aquatics Center, the best showing among local Catholic schools.

Highlighting Immaculate Heart’s effort was an eighth-place finish in the 200 Free Relay race, the best finish among Catholic competitors. Seniors Charlotte Barzi and Irene Gil, sophomore Jordyn Bryant and freshman anchor Meiyah Go comprised the squad, with Bryant and Go also scoring points in the consolation finals of other races.

La Salle finished 24th in the team standings with 36.5 points, led by juniors Raquel Torrez and Isabella Escovar, sophomore Alison Wong and senior Carolyn Cohn.

Louisville freshman Angele Parral and sophomore Hayden Henderson led the Royals to 23 points (29th), and Marymount junior Reagan Whitney — the only other Catholic finalist in a D-3 swimming event (ninth in the 50 Free) — accounted for the Sailors’ 16 points (31st).

Also scoring points were Bishop Amat, 10 points from junior Tyler Quintas (39th); Mayfield, five points from sophomore Sami Pratt (44th); and St Anthony, five points from senior Emma Mehus (44th).
