Several graduates of local Catholic high schools playing at other universities earned post-season honors following the 2019 season.

San Diego University’s Grace Frohling, a graduate of Marymount High School, was named to the American Volleyball Coaches Association’s All-Pacific South Region honorable mention team and was the Pacific South Region Freshman of the Year.

Frohling previously was named West Coast Conference Freshman of the Year and to the All-WCC and All-Freshman first teams. Pepperdine junior Shannon Scully, formerly of Mater Dei High School, also earned AVCA All-Pacific South Region honorable mention and All-WCC first team honors.

Elsewhere in the U.S., former Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy star Kayla Lund was named the AVCA’s All-East Coast Region Player of the Year and to the region’s first team for the second time. Playing for the University of Pittsburgh, Lund previously earned regional Freshman of the Year honors (2017) and All-Atlantic Coast Conference Academic Team honors (2018), building on her resume as a three-time MaxPreps All-American at FSHA.

Stanford junior Meghan McClure, former CIF-Southern Section Player of the Year from Santa Margarita HS, was named to the AVCA’s All-Pacific North Region Team for the second time. She previously earned All-Pac 12 Conference honorable mention and All-Academic First Team honors.
