Division 1AA

In Division 1AA, no diocesan teams advanced past the quarterfinal round, with Marymount’s loss to Great Oaks ending it.

Defending champions La Salle lost in the first round, three sets to none, to Los Alamitos. Despite a slow start to their season, they came back to finish 2nd in the Del Rey, with a league record of 6-2.

Flintridge-Sacred Heart advanced to the second round with a 3-0 win over Palos Verdes. However, they fell to Corona Del Mar, 3-2. They fell behind 2-0, but fought their way back to force a 5th set. Unfortunately, their season ended after a 15-8 set loss.

Marymount rolled their way into the quarterfinals, beating Newport Harbor 3-0, and Bishop Montgomery 3-1. However, their season came to a close with a surprising 3-2 loss to Great Oak.

St. Joseph was put against the No. 1 team in Division 1AA, Redondo Union. This matchup ended their season with a 3-0 loss.

Notre Dame (Sherman Oaks) and Gardena Serra both were knocked out in the first round.

Division 2AA

Mayfield was the only school in Division 2AA to make the playoffs, and they represented well. They won their opening matchup against Mission Prep, 3-0, and their second round matchup against Valley Christian, 3-0. They did not allow more that 17 points in both games. However, they fell to Esperanza, 3-0. Mayfield finishes the season with an overall record of 20-7.

Division 2A

Louisville entered the tournament as the No. 1 seed in their division. They won their first two games 3-0, against Glendale and Cypress. However, they fell to Palm Springs 3-0.

Chaminade and Alemany both fell in the second round to Viewpoint and Troy, respectively.

Division 3A

Notre Dame (Riverside) lost in the first round to La Sierra, 3-1.

Division 4AA

St. Anthony won their first round matchup against Providence (Burbank), 3-1. St. Bonaventure also won their first round game against Providence (Santa Barbara), 3-0. The two teams then met, with St. Anthony winning, 3-1.

Villanova Prep lost to Pacifica Christian, 3-1, ending their season.

St. Monica (Santa Monica) made it to the second round, but lost to Shadow Hills, 3-2, in a back and forth matchup.

La Reina is still alive, advancing to the semifinals. They beat Milken, Don Lugo, and Shadow Hills, while only dropping one set.

St. Paul only lost one set while cruising to the semifinals, beating Colony, Rolling Hills Prep and Pacifica Christian.

La Reina and St. Paul met Nov. 18 to decide who would play in the Nov. 22 D4AA Championship game (Cerritos College). Results were unavailable at press time.

Division 4A

Bishop Conaty-Loretto made it to the quarterfinals before losing to Cate, 3-0.

Ramona Convent and St. Pius X-St. Matthias both lost their first round matchups. St. Genevieve and Mary Star of the Sea lost their second round games to Summit and Savanna, respectively.
