On June 13, Loyola High School in Los Angeles was awarded the California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) Commissioner’s Cup for the eighth year in a row, distinguishing the campus as the top athletic high school program in the greater part of Southern California.

The all-boys school also earned four CIF championships in golf, soccer, swimming and volleyball, while also receiving the US Lacrosse California Southern Section title and the State championship in cross-country.

“Loyola High School is strong across the board in every discipline. Being awarded the CIF Commissioner’s Cup is a testament to our commitment to excellence in athletics,” said school principal Frank Kozakowski. “Our scholar-athletes shined during the 2015 to 2016 season. Team after team won their divisions and numerous athletes received the highest statewide individual honors.”

Kozakowski added that the athletic drive of the students was matched with rigorous academics and community service.
