The first CIF-Southern Section soccer rankings of the 2019-2020 season, released Dec. 2, show four Catholic schools teams in the number one slot of their respective divisions, with two more ranked second.

Among girls’ teams, three-time defending Division 1 champion J.Serra is number one in the D-1 rankings. La Salle, last year’s D-4 champion, is first in D-3, and St. Monica (Santa Monica) is atop D-7.

Other top ten rankings include Flintridge Sacred Heart, runner-up in D-3 last year, second in D-2; Bishop Montgomery sixth in D-4; Pomona Catholic sixth in D-6; and Santa Clara third; and Alverno Heights seventh in D-7. St. Genevieve is just outside the top ten in D-4.

In boys’ soccer, St. Anthony is first in Division 7. Cathedral, last year’s D-1 runner-up, is listed second, with Mater fifth, Loyola sixth, and Servite eighth. Salesian is fifth in D-3, and Bishop Diego seventh in D-6.
