Three-time defending Division 1 champion J.Serra of San Juan Capistrano and St. Monica of Santa Monica are ranked first in their divisions, according to the CIF-Southern Section girls’ soccer rankings released Dec. 9.

Also ranked in their respective divisional top tens are Flintridge Sacred Heart, fourth, and Bishop Amat, fifth in D-2; La Salle, fourth in D-3, Mayfield, fifth in D-4; and Santa Clara, third and Alverno Heights sixth in D-7.

In boys’ soccer, St. John Bosco is the highest ranked team, second in D-2. Cathedral is third, Mater Dei fourth, Servite seventh and Loyola ninth in D-1; Salesian fourth in D-3; Bishop Diego seventh in D-6; and St. Anthony sixth and Paraclete eighth in D-7.

Girls’ Water Polo

La Salle is second in Division 7, the highest ranking of any Catholic school girls’ water polo team in the Dec. 9 CIF-SS survey.

Also listed this week are Santa Margarita, fifth, and Mater Dei, eighth in the combined D-1& 2 poll; Notre Dame/Sherman Oaks, eighth in D-3; Louisville, tenth in D-6; and Notre Dame Academy, eighth in D-7.
