J.Serra and Crespi held their places as division leaders in the CIF-Southern Section boys’ water polo polls released Sept. 30.

The Lions lead Division 4, and the Celts are atop D-6, with Alemany eighth in the latter poll (the Warriors were sixth last week).

In the combined D-1&2 poll, Loyola is still third; Mater Dei and Santa Margarita are tied for fifth after ranking fourth and ninth last week; and Damien is still 18th.

Servite went from fourth to fifth in D-3 and St. Francis stayed fourth in D-5.

Cross Country

Catholic school boys teams showed upward movement in the latest CIF-Southern Section cross country divisional polls released Sept. 30.

Loyola climbed from seventh to fifth in Division 2, and Cathedral gained from fourth to third while J.Serra rose from seventh to sixth in D-4. Damien and St. John Bosco remained ninth and tenth in D-3. 

Only two Catholic school teams made the girls’ top tens, Sacred Heart remained fifth in D-5, but Mayfield slipped from seventh to ninth in D-4.
