Entering the final week of regular season play, J.Serra (Division 4) and Crespi (Division 6) continue to lead their respective CIF-Southern Section boys’ water polo polls released Oct. 28.

Playoff seedings will be announced Nov. 2, and playoff action begins Nov. 5 with wild-card matches. Other divisional rankings:

D-1 & 2: Loyola is third, Santa Margarita fourth (up from fifth), Mater Dei eighth and Damien 20th.

D-3: Notre Dame/Sherman Oaks is fifth (up from sixth) and Servite tenth. 

D-5: St. Francis remains second. 

D-6: Alemany is sixth (up from eighth).

Cross Country

Catholic school teams swapped positions in the Oct. 28 CIF-SS cross country divisional polls.

Among boys’ teams, St. John Bosco slipped from fourth to seventh in Division 3, but Damien rose from 11th to ninth, and Servite up to 11th from 12th. Loyola remained eighth in D-2. And in D-4 J.Serra edged up from seventh to sixth, Cathedral is slipped from fourth to seventh, and St. Francis was down from 12th to 15th. 

In D-4 girls, Mayfield dipped from sixth to eighth, Bishop Amat from tenth to 12th, J.Serra slipped from 11th to 13th, and St. Lucy’s entered the list at 15th. In D-5, Sacred Heart fell from sixth to ninth and St. Paul from 14th to 15th. 

Girls’ Tennis

The Oct. 28 CIF-SS girls’ tennis rankings are a repeat of the prior week, as far as Catholic representation is concerned. J.Serra and Mayfield are still tenth in Divisions 2 and 3, and Mater Dei and Santa Margarita (D-1) and Flintridge Sacred Heart (D-4) are among

 teams just outside the top ten.
