Three Catholic school teams qualified for the first round of the CIF-Southern Section girls’ volleyball playoffs by winning their wild-card matches Oct. 22.

Rosary Academy won its Division 3 match over Milliken 3-0. Cornelia Connelly and St. Bernard (D-8) were also 3-0 winners over Judson International and Mountain View, respectively.

In D-6, Duarte beat St. Monica/Santa Monica 3-0, and in D-7 Westminster defeated Bishop Conaty-Loretto 3-1. 

That leaves 25 Catholic school teams vying for divisional titles in tournament play that starts Oct. 24 with first round matches. Second round matches are Oct. 26 (except in D-1), quarterfinals Oct. 30, semifinals Nov. 2 and finals Nov. 9. 

The first round schedule:

D-1: Marymount and Mater Dei, first round byes. 

D-2: Alemany at Lakewood; Santiago at Santa Margarita; Flintridge Sacred Heart at Bishop Montgomery; St. Lucy’s at San Juan Hills.

D-3: Redlands East Valley at Notre Dame Academy; Santa Monica at La Salle; Rosary at La Habra.

D-4: Sunny Hills at St. Anthony; Mayfield at Calvary Chapel/Santa Ana. 

D-5: Chaminade at Bishop Amat.

D-6: St. Genevieve at St. Bonaventure; Katella at Mary Star.

D-7: Highland at Sacred Heart; Pacific Christian/Orange at Holy Family; Moreno Valley at St. Pius X-St. Matthias.

D-8: Santa Clarita Christian at St. Monica Academy; Pacific Christian/Santa Monica at Bishop Diego; Cornelia Connelly at de Toledo; St. Bernard at United Christian Academy.

D-9: Santa Clara at River Springs Magnolia.
