Four Catholic high schools will play Nov. 25rnfor the right to compete for state championships in Sacramento, after theyrnposted semifinals victories Nov. 21 in the Southern California Regional Girls’rnVolleyball Playoffs.

MaterrnDei, Santa Margarita, La Salle and St. Paul advanced to the Regional finalsrnthis weekend with semifinal wins; the other two Catholic teams in the semis,rnMarymount and La Reina, each went the full five sets before losing.

Marymount,rnin fact, was beaten by Mater Dei in a stirring Open Division semi, 25-18,rn15-25, 25-14, 10-25, 15-8, in the third meeting of the year between the twornteams who played in the Division 1 CIF-SS final on Nov. 11, with Mater Deirnwinning. The Monarchs (36-5) will oppose Torrey Pines (34-3) in the Regionalrnfinal.

Division I: Santa Margaritarn(32-9), No. 1 seed, beat fifth-seeded Bishop’s of La Jolla, 25-16, 25-15,rn25-13, and will play third-seeded San Juan Hills (26-13) for the title.

Division II: La Salle (29-6), No. 2rnseed, defeated No. 3 seed Olympian, 25-17, 25-12, 25-19, and will playrntop-seeded Sierra Canyon (36-7) in the final.

Division III: St. Paul (29-10),rnNo. 2 seed and CIF-SS Division 5 winner, defeated Poway, 25-20, 25-21, 15-25,rn27-25, for the right to meet No. 1 seed Point Loma of San Diego (21-12) in thernfinal. Point Loma edged fourth-seeded La Reina (34-8), 25-20, 21-25, 25-19,rn22-25, 15-6, in the other semifinal.

Regionalrnfinals (Northern and Southern California) in all divisions are scheduled Nov.rn25, and state championships on Dec. 2.
