FivernCatholic school teams will vie Nov. 7 for berths in the championship round ofrnthe CIF-Southern Section girls’ volleyball playoffs, after posting quarterfinalrnvictories Nov. 4.

Marymountrnand Mater Dei, the top two ranked teams in Division 1; La Salle, No. 1 inrnDivision 3; and La Reina and St. Paul, Nos. 1 and 2 in Division 5, earned theirrnway into the semifinals last Saturday, four of the five posting straight-setrnvictories.

Sixrnother Catholic school teams were defeated in the quarterfinals, although NotrernDame/Sherman Oaks took matters to a fifth set, after battling to a 27-25 win inrnthe fourth in their Division 2 loss to El Dorado.
